Camped Out

 Camped Out

Mendel and I at Camp in Michigan on visiting day two weeks ago!

This Tuesday we picked up Mendel from IAH. Mendel spent four weeks at sleepaway camp in Michigan, the very same camp I spent eleven summers at when I was growing up.

The Jewish enthusiasm and camp energy he brought home, has not only raised the decibel levels in our house, but the atmosphere as well is completely charged with wonderful camp spirit!

There is something so unique about the camp experience, that has the ability to leave a deep positive impact on a child. It has been said, that just one summer can last a lifetime.

While we adults aren’t going to camp any time soon (sigh), we still CAN create 'camp like' moments by engaging in 'fun', 'relaxing' and 'non-judgmental' Jewish experiences. This has the power to open us up to further learning and growth.

Shabbat Shalom!
